Victory for Scarlet Oyster, Big Boys Toys, Zumbido and Shakatak.
The fifth race of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club's Twilight series on Thursday 30 May saw a south westerly breeze of around fifteen knots.
The Race Management Team of Rob and Sue Lamb, Peter Bateson, David Giddings, Andrew Paterson and Kirsteen Donaldson set the Committee Boat off Netley on the eastern shore.
The series of staggered windward leeward legs for the four classes saw some close action.
In Class 1 racing under IRC, Ross Appleby's Oyster 48 Scarlet Oyster took line honours and won on corrected time by one minute 42 seconds from Peter Jones' X332 Hoodlum with Stuart Danby's Corby 25 Respect third.
Class 2 saw Andrew Percival's Hunter 707 Big Boys Toys take line honours and corrected time victory by 50 seconds from Steve Sault's Sigma 33 Hooligan second with sistership Eddie Lee's Skybird third.
Class 3 - racing under club handicap, line honours went to H-Boat Badger (Ben James and David Gebbett) but corrected time victory by 9 seconds went to Sadler 29 Zumbido (Mike Hibberd) with Andrew Hopkins' Daniella second and Badger third.
In the multihull class Peter Ward-Jenkins Corsair F28R Shakatak was first to finish and first on corrected from sistership Carbon Tiger (Brian Haynes)with David McLeman's Dragonfly 920 Zoum third.
The RSYC Twilight Series continues until 4 July.
