STRONG winds forced race officials to scrap two of the five races in last weekends Clarkson Club regatta hosted by the Royal Southampton Yacht Club but David Scanlon showed his command of boat handling in gusts of 34 knots by winning all three Class 1 races in his First 40.7 Fandango.
Raced over two days and featuring 34 boats in four classes, Scanlon was the clear winner while Neville Hodkin's X362 Extra Djinn took second place in all three races, with third overall Becky Walford's Reflex 38 Cougar Clipper taking two thirds and a fourth.
Class 2 saw Michael Fawcett's Mustang 30 Hobby Horse win overall with a second and two firsts. Mark Franklin's Moby J was second with a first and two thirds. Geoff Lynch's Stewart 36 The Red Dragon took third overall.
In Class 3, racing under club handicap, Steve Flick's and Wendy Moore's Jeanneau 30 Manushi won with two firsts from Peter Royle's Brigand Chief.
