ROOKWOOD pupil Donna Sandham won the regional final of the third national schools environmental art competition but was pipped at the post for the national prize.
Donna, aged 14, was one of 16 talented young artists whose art won them a place in the national prizewinners final at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
Two ultimate winners were chosen.
Donna's entry, which has already won her a digital camera, will be professionally framed and mounted for an exhibition at the Halcyon Gallery in Birmingham.
The competition has been designed to increase awareness of environmental and conservation issues through art and to raise money for Fauna and Flora International's overseas conservation programmes.
Donna's entry was one of more than 10,000 from 1,400 participating schools.
