VANDALS have turned a Golden Jubilee summer into a nightmare for the leaders of a New Forest charity bus project.
Things have got so bad that the thugs have even been pelting workers with stones while they were repairing the damage.
The Forest Bus takes fun, games and adventure activities to children and families in areas of the New Forest which are lacking in facilities.
But after losing a home at Totton and then being given another one at Fawley's Gang Warily Recreation Ground, it had one of its £400 windows smashed in March.
Earlier this month things went from bad to worse when no fewer than seven windows were smashed, landing the project with a bill for more than £3,000.
Project manager Jane Peacock could not believe her ears when she heard that the glass fitter was pelted with more stones by hooligans when he was repairing that damage.
Those youths were chased away, but vandalism reared its ugly head again this week when one of the project's activity workers went to the coach and more stones were thrown, with another window being broken.
One of the youths - believed to be around 15 years old - had short, blond cropped hair and was wearing a Lacoste sweater. Another had a grey top and dark trousers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hythe Police Station on 0845 045 45 45.
The latest damage has meant that the bus has been out of action for a second week, with next week also in jeopardy.
It has also sparked renewed calls for a new and safe parking space and - if possible - office space nearby. Anyone who can help should contact Jane Peacock on 023 8024 3888.
