COLIN KENNA doesn't need Audley Harrison to make capital.
Manager Jack Bishop is seeking an opponent for unbeaten heavyweight Kenna for his show-topping outing at Southampton Guildhall on July 12.
Harrison, though, will not feature after Bishop declared: "We wouldn't need him - and I don't think Harrison would want Colin."
Like other British pundits, Bishop feels Olympic gold medallist Harrison's stock has been devalued.
Harrison shares a common denominator with Southampton crowd-pleaser Kenna in clocking up an unbeaten record since turning professional.
But Harrison's opponents have given Bishop and others cause to question his credentials.
Harrison was panned after labouring to victory over Mark Krence in his last outing, in contrast to Kenna who blasted Zimbabwean James Gilbert to defeat inside 40 seconds of the first round.
All the questions surrounding Harrison's stamina resurfaced as he struggled to a points victory over Krence, who is little more than a pumped-up light-heavyweight.
Harrison was struggling towards the end of the six-round contest and Bishop said: "He was blowing like an old cart-horse at the end of the fight and I don't think he has anyone in his corner to tell him that he ties up towards the end of rounds."
Bishop was quite adamant that if Harrison's came knocking on the door, he would turn them away.
"If he came to me I would have to say we wouldn't want him," said Bishop. "But I have to say I don't think that would happen.
"Harrison's manager, Colin McMillan, was at Colin's professional debut against Slick Miller.
"He sat there, took a few notes and asked a few questions about Colin, obviously thinking he might be a suitable opponent for Audley.
"But when Colin tucked Miller away in three rounds, he left pretty quickly.
"I think at this stage of the game, Colin is ahead of Audley.
"I've said all along that at 25, Colin is still a youngster in heavyweight terms and I'm determined to bring him along at the right pace.
"But I honestly don't think there would be any mileage in taking on Audley Harrison, not that they would want him after the way Colin performaned in his last last fight."
