My darling do not cry,

It is your love that allows me to strive and not die. My darling is in Southampton, 5,000 miles away, I am so sad and lonely here in the heart of LA.

I love you my darling, please do not cry,

I love you my darling, time will fly by.

I love you my darling, God knows this,

Your devotion to me is your tender kiss,

Your determination is extremely clear,

A few more months and you will be here.

You have nothing to worry and nothing to fear,

I hold your loving heart so tenderly and it is so dear. I know you must miss me, I know you must be crying,

You know that when I think about this,

My heart is dying.

Do not cry my sweet darling, I know you are weeping,

While I miss you so much, as you are sleeping, a country apart.

My darling is in Southampton, 5,000 miles away from me, but so close to my heart.
