EMO Philips may have lost his bobbed haircut but his comedy is as surreal and razor-sharp as ever.
Now spiky-haired and more grungy-looking, Emo is back in Britain on his first tour since the early nineties.
But although he may have been out of the limelight for a few years, he is still recognised as a leading figure in the world of comedy - in 1999 GQ magazine awarded him a glowing accolade, naming three of his gags in the best 75 jokes of all time.
And Emo has kept his hand in, regularly appearing at the Edinburgh Festival as well as cropping up on television and radio shows.
Emo's off-centre brand of comedy has won him a huge cult following on both sides of the Atlantic and he counts US chat show hosts David Letterman and Jay Leno among his fans.
