CELEBRATING its own golden jubilee this year, The League of Friends at Andover War Memorial Hospital hosted its 2002 summer fete, raising £3,000 for the hospital's coffers.
The event was opened by new Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Tony Gentle and boasted music by the Test Valley Youth Brass Band as well as a display by a group of jugglers.
One of the highlights was the 'name the dog' competition which attracted 100 guesses, including one from Emily Woodhouse (pictured above).
The summer fete is seen as the main hospital fundraising event and is part of an ongoing programme by The League of Friends to generate cash. Last year it donated £20,000 towards the cost of buying new equipment for the hospital.
