ANDOVER judo star Kate Howey's wrist is on the mend and the plaster has been removed.
Kate's mother Sharon said: "She is very pleased with her progress and will be back on the mat in about two weeks.
"At the moment she is waiting to see whether she has been selected for the Commonwealth Games as the announcement will be made any day now."
The Olympic silver medallist, from Andover's Pilgrims Way, broke the radius bone in her right wrist during a bout at the British Open Championships. The Commonwealth Games take place in Manchester and begin on 30 July.
