ROKE MANOR men's team required the help of a 14-year-old to secure a volleyball victory over Solent which took them to the top of the Southampton & District Association League.
Youngster Michael Hutt, was asked to play at the men's height net, despite having never played a volleyball match before.
With the help of Hutt's accurate and steady services, Roke Men's A Team eventually ran out 2-0 winners.
Roke Ladies side faced a strong Solent Ladies team and the match ended in a 2-0 defeat as Roke began to commit errors.
They retain their place at the top of the league, courtesy of their better points difference.
Roke Manor are offering free volleyball sessions at Oaklands Community School in Lordshill on June 18 and 25. Full details on the website: www.rokevolleyball.org.uk
