BOURNEMOUTH Fishing Lodge finally delivered on the banks of Longbridge after promising so much but missing out year after year in the Reel Care Knockout Cup.
A top-class side on paper, Lodge have always had all the ability to turn in a big performance.
They managed it last Sunday when a brilliant performance by Steve Hemmings, Micky Dean, Nigel Fitzgerald and Chris Albiston saw the side return 210lb 8oz of fish to the scales to leave the opposition trailing in their wake.
Their efforts brought section wins for Micky Dean and Nigel Fitztgerald, a second in section for Chris Albiston and a third in section for Steve Hemmings in an outstanding all-round performance.
The venue fished far better than expected and a classy performance from Poingdestres gave them second place.
They produced an average weight with 190lb after an outstanding performance on the canal by overall winner Dave Pool and Steve Pommery. The pair were backed up by solid fishing on the Main Lake by Pete Newman and Clive Egerton.

They took 149lb 3oz to the scales after an outstanding performance by Sean Seabright with 71lb 10oz.
West country superstars, Sillybait Black, sensationally crashed out of the contest in fourth place with 127lb 8oz, with Eastleigh Tightlines putting in a solid performance in fifth with 108lb 7oz.
Sillybait's other top side, Sillybait Original, slumped to sixth with 91lb 11oz.
