SHE'S hooked on the monarchy.
Gosport pensioner Pat Brown thinks nothing of camping out on the streets of London in the hope of catching a glimpse of her favourite royals.
So it's no surprise that she's been planning how to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee for the best part of the past year.
Organising a street party for hundreds of residents is something Pat takes in her stride, having previously co-ordinated parties for the Queen's Silver Jubilee and VE day.
She said: "I have been really looking forward to this and first contacted the council about it in April last year. I am not even sure they had much planned by that point.
"I remember at previous parties there has been a great community spirit with everyone mucking in. Hopefully this one will be the same."
You only have to walk into the bedroom of her Tukes Avenue home to realise Pat is a royal addict.
Her vast collection of cups, flags, books and other memorabilia proves that for Pat celebrating a royal occasion is not simply an excuse for a knees-up but more a way of life.
Her devotion to the throne is not just confined to anniversaries as the 72-year-old regularly makes the trip to London to see the Royal Family, having witnessed every marriage of the Queen's children.
She thinks nothing of camping out on The Mall - and even remembers seeing King George VI and Queen Mary.
She said: "I am a true royalist through and through. I think the Queen is marvellous and I can't wait to celebrate her achievement.
"I absolutely love any royal occasion and remember being the first one on The Mall in 1981 when Diana and Charles wed that was a super occasion."
Pat, who has 59 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, says she can't wait to celebrate the Golden Jubilee and dismisses any suggestion that the Royal Family has lost any of its popularity.
She said: "I think everybody should be marking the occasion in some way. It is something that many of us will never see again.
"Charles will have to be on the throne for another 50 years before we see another Golden Jubilee so it is important we make the most of this one."
Pat, who is organising a bash full of traditional entertainment including an old-fashioned sports day, fancy dress, dancing and gymnastic displays for her fellow Tukes Avenue residents, says she intends to make the most of the day and certainly won't be hard to spot among the crowd.
She said: "I have got a red, white and blue outfit that I wear made out of Union Jack material, but this year I am adding gold braiding so I will be the Golden Jubilee myself."
