BOTLEY PARK are the new Windell Winter League champions - but Hamptworth ran them close in the six-team seniors golfing competition.
Only four points separated the two sides after the clubs had played each other home and away.
The league format sees teams of ten split into five pairs with each pair collecting three points for a win.
Crane Valley, Chilworth, Test Valley and Wellow made up the league and Botley captain Mel Parker received the trophy from his Chilworth opposite number Peter Insole, who were defending champions.
Botley used 15 players through the season: Mel Parker, Joe Ware, Mike Whale, Bob Smith, Sid Staines, Sid Fell, Jeff Prince, Arthur Howe. Denis Snelgar, Del Reed, Barrie Sheffield, John Humphreys, Peter Bridges, Stan Travers and Peter Hall.
A Stableford competition, played on presentation day, was won by Wellow's Paddy Armstrong. The team prize was won by Jeff Prince, Peter Bridges, Sid Fell and Peter Hall representing Botley B.
