Golden Jubilee fever is spreading with the latest addition of Upper Brook Street to the list of parties taking place in Winchester.
It is being organised by a volunteer committee of seven, with retailers offering gifts of food and beverages and raffle prizes.
Over 100 people are expected to attend the lunchtime event, which features a spit-roast pig.
"Not only has the business community been generous but Canon John Teare, the parish priest of Holy Trinity Church, has offered sterling support with the loan of tables and chairs, and, most importantly, wet-weather cover, in the church hall," said committee member, Elizabeth Nation.
Winchester bellringers will be marking the occasion by gathering at the cathedral over the jubilee weekend.
On Saturday, June 1st, members past and present of the cathedral tower, along with representatives of the Diocesan Guild of Bellringers, will begin a four-hour-long full peal on the cathedral's unique set of 14 bells.
On Sunday, June 2nd, in addition to normal service ringing from 9am to 10am, the cathedral team will meet at 1.30pm to ring a Royal Jubilee quarter peal for Evensong under the direction of ringing master, John Colliss.
On Saturday, June 22nd, Winchester hosts to the annual National 12-Bell Competition, when the finest eight bands in the country will meet to pit their ringing skills against each other.
Other street parties in Winchester include Canon Street and Culver Road while Alresford, Denmead and Kings Worthy are also holding major celebrations.
