BADGERS and slow worms have delayed a developer's plans to build five houses on a plot of land in Warsash.
The discovery of badger setts and a healthy population of slow worms at the plot in Fleet End Road led to planning councillors yesterday opting for a site visit.
Another bone of contention is the access to the proposed new homes.
Keeble Developments want to use an existing private track from Fleet End Road until a new road is built from Shorewood Close through The Jolly Farmer's pub garden to the new homes.
Currently there is one house on the plot earmarked for building, which the developer wants to demolish.
