CASH from Hampshire County Council will fund more volunteering opportunities for local people.
The grant of £5,000 to Andover Volunteer Centre will pay for a co-ordinator who will find volunteers and also aid groups looking for help. The centre is run by Test Valley Community Services (TVCS) which recruits over 50 volunteers annually.
Volunteer opportunities already exist for committees, making tea, driving or helping with horses - the list is endless and TVCS can usually find a job to suit the skills on offer.
TVCS is also looking for a treasurer to act as a board member.
The work involves five meeting a year and contact with the finance officer. For information contact Dionne Ewart on 01264 362600.
