A MEMORIAL service is to be held at Hythe for Peter Legate - the Lymington businessman killed while climbing Mount Everest for charity.
The service is to take place at St John's Church in New Road at 11.30 am on Friday, May 24.
Mr Legate, pictured above, was a regular worshipper at St John's before he set off in March to raise funds - for Southampton-based charity for the deaf, Children Say, and Naomi House Children's Hospice near Winchester - by tackling the world's highest mountain.
He died on April 30 when he lost his footing while trying to cross a 600ft crevasse.
