JUMP Right In! That's the general invitation going out to celebrate the tenth Eastleigh Dance Festival, which takes to the stage at The Point dance and arts centre next month.
The festival started in 1992 when the emphasis was just about getting involved in projects and classes.
Now, to celebrate the event's tenth birthday, organisers have created more opportunities to get involved, take part or learn something new - hence the Jump Right In festival theme.
A spokeswoman said: "There are lots of opportunities to participate in a range of activities - and not just in dance."
The festival, which runs from June 16-30, opens with a day of "well being" workshops including massage and Tai Chi on Sunday, June 16.
Visitors to the Go Global day on Saturday, June 29 will be able to learn how to play the didgeridoo or African drums, and have the chance to take part in workshops in Aboriginal and African dance, eastern European folk and salsa.
The festival will also provide opportunities to trip the light fantastic in performances alongside professionals.
During the Gumboot Night on Sunday, June 23, there will be workshops in a cappella and gumboot dancing led by Black Umfolosi.
Participants will later join the famous Zimbabweans on stage as part of the performance.
Alternatively, youngsters aged between seven and 11 can learn and devise the exciting finale to The Flying Gorillas performance of Pishy and zoom up on stage for the end of the show.
A free programme of events is available by calling the box office on 023 8065 2333.
