A 41-YEAR-OLD man has died in hospital nine days after he was injured in a disturbance outside a pub at Haylands on the outskirts of Ryde.
Robert Hall, from Ryde, died in the intensive care unit at St Mary's Hospital, Newport, early yesterday. He never regained consciousness following the incident on May 4.
Two men have already been charged with assaulting Mr Hall, causing him grievous bodily harm.
Stephen McKay, 21, of no fixed abode, and Paul Lewis, 22, of Puckpool Hill, Ryde, are currently remanded in custody, and due to appear before magistrates again on May 20.
