IF YOU like your music but don't take it too seriously, Kit and the Widow at the Turner Sims Concert Hall is for you.
The duo present The Fat Lady Sings at the Turner Sims on Saturday, May 18, and will be joined by special guest, mezzo-soprano Melanie Marshall.
Kit, also known as Kit Hesketh-Harvey, and the Widow, Richard Sisson, are firmly established as well-loved purveyors of satirical musical nonsense.
For the final show of the Turner Sims concert season, they will take a look into the majestic world of the opera diva with the help of Marshall.
Marshall may not be a "fat lady", but she does have many credits to her name, including Carmen Jones at the Old Vic, Show Boat at the RSC and Porgy and Bess at Glyndbourne.
Together the performers will traverse four centuries of opera, from Donzinetti to Strauss, via a few saucy tales about Lesley Garrett.
Tickets cost £15. Box office: 023 8059 5151.
