FORMER Andover New Street player Tim Kidney and his dad Andy realised a lifetime ambition recently when they played at the home of Spurs - White Hart Lane.
It was all part of a charity fund- raising event for Children's Diabetes and was run nationwide at every Premiership club's ground.
Being lifelong Spurs fans it was a chance too good to miss for the Kindey family and, although they had to bid £1,500 in a charity auction, it was cheap at the price for what both described as 'a chance of a lifetime."
The trip to White Hart Lane included a tour of the ground, a complete playing strip with personalised names, changing in the home changing room and then running out on the hallowed turf, followed by a game with other Spurs fans who had to pay for the day, but with two teams led by Spurs legends Martin Chivers and Gary Mabbutt.
Despite losing 6-1, it was only 2-1 when Andy limped off with a pulled hamstring, iit was a day neither is liable to forget.
