SOUTHAMPTON striker Dani Rodrigues admits he has no idea whether he will be at St Mary's Stadium next season.
The 22-year-old is out of contract next month and has had few chances to impress manager Gordon Strachan after being sent on loan to Bristol City.
Rodrigues has featured just five times, all as a substitute, for the Robins.
He said: "My contract is up in June so it is now time to see whether I stay or leave. I think we will be talking in the next couple of weeks.
"The manager has not seen much of me since he came here and although it is hard to impress in training I need to show him what I can do.
"I was not match-fit when he came here and went on loan four weeks later so he has not really seen me play at my best.
"I really hope the club will give me a chance by keeping me on."
Meanwhile, the club are still taking stock of the news from Ecuador, where Agustin Delgado has fanned the flames even further over his future at St Mary's.
Newspapers yesterday linked him with a possible move to Spanish Primera Division side, Real Sociedad.
According to the Ecuador Football Association, they have suggested on their website that AC Milan could also be a contender for the 26-year-old striker's signature.
Delgado is currently training with the team at altitude in Quito ahead of the finals.
They are due to fly to New York shortly for a friendly against Yugoslavia next Wednesday, and then a second warm-up game against AC Milan in Cincinatti on Sunday.
But on their official website this weekend, the Ecuador FA report that Delgado, who Saints paid £3.5million for last November is unhappy at Southampton.
The website says: "Delgado is hoping to perform well with Ecuador in the World Cup in Japan and Korea and, with this, have the opportunity to be transferred to another club with a better level and tradition.
"The striker did not give any names yet, nor from which countries they are from. But he stated that his agent was negotiating in various European countries to try to settle an agreement with a big club.
"Before signing for Southampton, Italian club Milan asked for his transfer price, and although their interest in him was merely informal, further relations with the player cannot be disregarded."
Ecuador beat local club side Barcelona Guayaquil on Friday by 1-0, with Delgado coming on in the second half.
The win was a much-needed lift for the team who were booed off the pitch after suffering an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to Brazilian club Internacional de Porto Alegre on Wednesday.
The game was played in front of 45,000 fans and served as a celebration of the club's 77th anniversary.
After their tour of America, the Ecuador team play Atletico Madrid in Spain on May 14, before settling into their World Cup base at Tottori, Japan on May 21.
In a separate development, one national newspaper yesterday reported that Sunderland were targeting James Beattie as a possible £8million replacement for Kevin Phillips, who could be bound for Tottenham.
