The presence of Southampton Running Club for their first run of the season boosted the men's field in the second race of the Road Runners' 10 series to 190 runners - and they were quick to underline their dominance with ten runners home in the top 23.
Their display at Dear Leap in Ashurst in the race organised by Totton Running Club, gave them first and third team places - but it was international runner Angus Maclean of Team Solent who set a blistering pace in the individual event.
The only man likely to have been able to put him under pressure was last year's overall winner, New Forest's Lee Rodriguez.
But Rodriguez was absent due to track commitments and Maclean was able to cross the line unchallenged.
The women's race was won by Becky Life of Lordshill, who recorded her first ever victory in the series.
Life finished 16 seconds clear of the winner of the first race, Karen Rushton of Southampton City.
A further 28 seconds back was Anthea Waters of New Forest Runners.
The team race saw a reversal of the top two postions from race one in the summer-long series, with New Forest having a two-point margin over Hardley.
IBM moved up one place to third, despite their individual champion from last year, Nala McRobert, now turning out for Southampton Running Club.
