Hythe ferry is back in action after a five-day shutdown caused by rough weather.
Services had to be suspended after a freak gust of wind sent the ferry Hotspur IV crashing into the 120-year-old Hythe Pier.
No one was hurt, but pier supports known as piles were bent in the collision.
White Horse Ferries drew up plans to use a floating rig to drive in replacement piles, but work was delayed by more bad weather. Now the service is back to normal in time for the busy bank holiday weekend.
Ferry spokesman Monica Mercier said: "Health and safety inspectors have checked all the work and said the pier is safe again."
