SOUTHAMPTON superstar Craig David has picked up another top award - only this time not for his singing.
The 21-year-old pop phenomenon has just been voted one of the world's 50 best-looking people by American celebrity magazine People.
Though most of the stars listed in the top 50 weren't actually given positions, there was one clear winner - Australian actress Nicole Kidman.
The magazine listed Craig because his sculpted facial hair was particularly fetching, and quoted the singing sensation as saying: "It's like doing a painting."
The magazine went on to suggest it can take the singer, whose debut album Born To Do It reached number one in both the UK and US charts, up to 40 minutes to perfect.
The piece also points out that Craig's abstention from tobacco, caffeine and alcohol are some of the factors that have made him a hit.
A spokesman for Craig's PR company, said: "I'm sure Craig will be flattered by this, but he'll take it in his stride.
"To be honest, he'll be far more concerned about whether people are connecting with his music and enjoying it, and I doubt he'll take it very seriously."
Craig is currently in the final stages of finishing his second album, for which he has again used the services of long-time friend Mark Hill of Artful Dodger fame. It is expected to hit the shops this autumn.
Craig, who grew up in Southampton, is also set to appear in a documentary for ITV's South Bank Show later this year. Much of the programme was filmed in Southampton and focuses on his struggle to get recognition.
