FAREHAM'S Diane Blake is extremely proud of her new violet hat - but she's even more proud of where she will be wearing it.
Diane is one of the privileged few invited to the Queen's Golden Jubilee garden party in the grounds of Buckingham Palace.
She won her coveted invitation thanks to being born on February 6, 1952 - the day the Queen ascended the throne.
Diane, a civil servant, of Snowdon Drive, jumped at the chance when she heard Accession Day babies could apply for invitations.
Now she's looking forward to going to London with her son, Simon 32, and perhaps shaking hands with the Queen on July 9.
"I'm really excited about going. I've always felt a little bit special being born on February 6, 1952.
"I like hats and I've already got quite a selection but I chose to buy a rather special one for this occasion. It's not every day you meet the Queen."
