Bill Wyman and his Rhythm Kings, Southampton Guildhall, May 7
IS BILL Wyman the most laid-back rock star in the world?
Even at the height of his fame in the Sixties, the former Rolling Stones bassist could barely muster the energy to roll himself a cigarette. In fact, you were lucky if you saw him actually move an inch on stage.
Bill, who enjoyed a brief solo career in the Eighties, is now even more horizontally-inclined. His current project sees him taking it easier than ever.
Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings boasts a fantastic musical line-up that includes Georgie Fame, Albert Lee and Procul Harum's Gary Brooker. Bill doesn't include any Stones material, but serves up plenty of Sixties-influenced tunes, including the band's summer single, Groovin'.
Is he still "un rock star?" Of course he is.
