Dominic Holland, Ashcroft Ats Centre, Fareham, May 9
BEING a successful stand-up comedian doesn't necessarily mean living a life of glamour and fame.
Although he has made numerous TV and radio appearances and is successful enough to have his own UK tour, Dominic Holland is a far cry from the kind of star who can only travel with a huge entourage.
"I drive myself to wherever I'm appearing, check myself into a bed and breakfast, do the gig and drive home," he says.
"I don't have a support act and I can't afford a tour manager. Going to work isn't like going into an office where you've got 25 friends and you all talk about your weekends - it can be quite lonely."
Still, it's probably better than the alternative: "If I wasn't a comedian, I think I'd be an average sales rep, driving round the country flogging soap." SC
Performance: 7.45pm. Tickets: £8.50. Box office: 01329 310600.
