Nuffield Theatre, Southampton, May 5
NAME dropping may be generally frowned upon but when you have anecdotes to share about Oscar Wilde, Noel Coward, David Niven and James Mason you can be forgiven.
Sheridan Morley invites you to spend an evening with him in which he will tell the story of his own career as well as tales about a variety of celebrities who he has met and written about.
The drama critic, TV panellist, radio presenter and son of the famous actor Robert Morley will be paying particular attention to his recent biography of Sir John Gielgud.
He published his first book in 1969 and has written several biographies since then.
Recent biographies of his include studies of Ginger Rogers, Sir Dirk Bogarde, Marylin Monroe and Gene Kelly.
Sheridan has also risked placing himself before the critics on several occasions, not only as a raconteur but also as a director, giving him plenty to talk about.
Performance 7.30pm. Tickets: £12.50. Box office: 023 8067 1771.
