HEDGE END'S Nick Ball won his third walking title at the weekend in the Race Association Under-15 3km Road Championships at the Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield.
The Wildern School pupil led from gun to tape on the road course.
He also notched up a new personal best in the progress, stopping the clock in an impressive 14 minutes 42 seconds.
Ball's performance knocks 40 seconds of the previous best for this distance, winning him the overall 'Style of the Championships' award for his walking technique.
The meeting was part of the National Young Age Group Grand Prix League for which his win earned him another 100 points.
The performance will also earn the youngster selection to represent Young England in the Dublin Grand Prix of Walking in mid-June for the third successive year.
Ball's next race will be at the Hampshire AA Track and Field Championships at Portsmouth, again over 3km, where he hopes to reproduce his current form and push himself higher up on the UK Athletics all-time ranking list.
