Hamble'S revamped police surgery will be open this Friday from 10am to 11am and on Thursday, May 9, from 6pm to 7pm.
Police surgeries operating from a portable building alongside the village's Memorial Hall were instigated a year ago following the closure of Netley police station.
The plan was to give villagers the chance to meet local officers on the first Saturday of every month between 10am and noon and every Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.
Parish council clerk Kate Cullen told the Daily Echo that the scheme did not prove a success because police at Hedge End had experienced staffing problems.
"Weeks went by without the police surgery being manned and people stopped using it altogether," she added.
Now, the council and police have agreed to make a fresh start with the Hamble beat officer arranging times when he is able to man the surgery.
