Victory for Fixation, Big Boys Toys and Scooby III

The sixth and final race of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club's Spring series on Sunday 28 April saw a gusty westerly breeze of around 20 knots.

The Race Management Team set the Committee Boat off Netley on the eastern shore.

There was a five minute postponement as the Committee Boat was repositioned and the multihulls were set away at 1015. In the multihull class Dragonfly Scooby III went on to win by two minutes on corrected time from Corsair F28R Shakatak.

In Class 1 racing under IRC, Tim and Chris Octon's Corby 35 Njos took line honours by five minutes but it was Andrew Tregoning's Fixation which won by over four minutes on corrected time from Hooligan, Steve Sault's Sigma 33, with Njos third.

Class 3 - racing under club handicap, line honours and corrected time victory was again taken by Hunter 707 Big Boys Toys (Andrew Percival) with Mike Perrin's Sigma 33 Iskareen second and Michael Hibberd's Sadler 29 third.

Overall in the series Mike Garvey's X332 X-Parrott won Class 1 from H-Boat Badger and Hooligan. In Club Class, Big Boys Toys won from Iskareen and Zumbido.

In the Multihull Class Scooby and Shakatak were tied equal first in the series with Triple Dutch third.
