THE BASINGSTOKE Buffalo face the biggest weekend in their history as they go head-to-head with Whitley Warriors in the English National League play-off final.
Tomorrow (6.30pm), is the home leg, with the second leg in the North East on Sunday (6.30pm).
Northern league champions Whitley will be out to claim the play-off crown for the third year running and have dropped only three points in the league all season - all to Altrincham Aces.
The Aces were soundly thrashed by the Buffalo, who ran out 22-9 winners on aggregate in a play-off semi-final.
The Basingstoke side are ready for the test against the most physical team in the league which is certain to make it an all-action contest and great value at just £1 and free for children.
Coach Ed Campbell said: "Last season we lost to them in the semi-finals but I believe we are stronger now and they are weaker, so we definitely have a chance.
"We are certain to be underdogs but confidence is high in the dressing room after our two wins over Altrincham."
Last season Whitley won 3-2 in Basingstoke, with top Brit Simon Leech a major factor in the game but he quit the northern club early in the season.
Before the Buffalo game, the Basingstoke under-19 Bison, known as the Viking Citroen Ice Warriors, open their home play-off campaign with the visit of Peterborough (4.30pm).
