THE sky above Hatherden Primary School was filled with coloured balloons as pupils enjoyed a house fun day.
The balloon race, organised by the PTA, marked the end of a day of activities involving all the pupils at the school.
The classes were divided into four colours - red, green, blue and yellow - which represented their 'house' and youngsters from across the school worked together on different activities.
The fun day happens twice a year and on this occasion each house represented a different country and the activities were based on this theme.
Shirley Higgs, chairman of the PTA, said: "The purpose of the day means it is fun as well as educational. The older pupils work with the younger pupils throughout the day."
To end the day, each pupil attached their name to a coloured balloon and released it, hoping it would travel the furthest and win a prize.
