IAN PERTON and Lee Trowern bowed out of Palmerston by winning the men's and junior singles respectively in the club finals week.
Both bowlers are moving to Victory next season with a view to playing in the national under-25 double rink championship for the Portsmouth club.
Perton took the men's crown 22-14 against Eric Hopgood, while 16-year-old Trowern, the club's junior captain, retained the junior title 2-0 on sets against Elaine Cullen.
Trowern also teamed up with Gemma Weston to land the junior pairs 23-12 against Ben Settle and Cullen, but skip Perton, playing alongside David Bligh, Terry Brown and Bill Ross, lost the fours 17-16 on an extra end to Russell Gadd, Ron Curtis, Peter Cook and skip Neil O'Donovan.
Among the ladies, Jill Cook chalked up a treble winning the singles (21-12 against Ann Broadhurst), the pairs with Broadhurst (25-17 against Jill Rowe and Rita Grant) and the league fours with Bob Bradlaugh, Joyce Bradlaugh and husband Peter Cook (22-21 against Bill Jackson, Ian Chittenden, Dennis Wren and Hopgood).

Four Palmerston bowlers - Trowern, Settle, Cullen and ten-year-old Luke Weston - are among eight Hampshire youngsters playing in the regional round of the English Indoor Bowling Association's School of Excellence.
They will be joined by Paul Shott and Andrew Herring (Banister Park), Andrew Snook (Atherley) and Kristian Holland (Loddon Vale) on Sunday, May 5, at Bromley where they will face top juniors from Surrey, Sussex and Kent, the prize for the winners being places in the national School of Excellent during September.
