SALISBURY'S Karl Davison once again showed he's currently 'King of the Hill' at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb last weekend.
He set the best time of the day on both the Saturday and Sunday events in his 600 horsepower four litre V8 Judd-powered Gould single seat racing car.
Davison also set the fastest ever recorded speed through the speed trap shortly after the start line, achieving 143mph in under six seconds!
New Milton's Ian Chard gave the new 1600cc DJ Firehawk-Suzuki racing car a sensational debut in Sunday's event, not only winning his class but also establishing a new class record time in the process, less than a second adrift of BTD man Davison.
Meanwhile, in the over two litre modified production sports car class, Rodney Thorne from Frampton near Dorchester also re-wrote the record book by setting a terrific new mark with the fearsome five litre Westfield shared with Dorchester's Colin Pook, who also got under the old record time to follow home his co-pilot in a class one-two.
Wimborne's Tim Stevens, driving a Lotus Exige, got close to the record to win the modified production marque sports car class on both days and Yeovil's Derek Mullis went home with a win and a second, driving his 1.4 litre Mini in the up to 1400cc modprod saloon class.
Verwood's Andy Bascombe claimed a first and a second in his two litre Ford Escort in the modprod saloons up to 2000cc, while Poole's Andrew Forsyth won the up to 2000cc modprod sports class on Sunday in his two litre Westfield.
Fordingbridge's Nik Gregory triumphed in the up to 1100cc racing car class on both days in his Jedi and Peter Smith from Yeovil took the up to 2000cc racing car class on both days in his Pilbeam
The next round of the British Hillclimb Championship takes place at Gurston Down on May 25-26.
