IT'S A safe bet that the Nuffield Theatre's next play will be a big hit.
Epsom Downs, opening on May 16, takes a panoramic tour of the British public at the races, with gamblers, bookmakers, owners and jockeys jostling for pole position.
Nine actors take on more than 50 parts, capturing the feverish excitement of the Derby, where everyone dreams of picking a winner and making their dreams come true.
The play was first performed in 1977 to coincide with the Queen's Silver Jubilee and is being revived this year to help celebrate the Queen's 50th year as monarch.
Epsom Downs is running at the Nuffield Theatre from May 16 to June 8, complementing both the official Golden Jubilee Day on June 3 as well as Derby Day on June 8.
