Hampshire's senior women retained the South West Counties Championship crown with a clinical 3-1 win over Gloucestershire at Yate Town yesterday.
Jo Lockton set up the first with a great diagonal ball to the far post where her Southampton Saints teammate Charlotte Brown slotted home in the 22nd minute.
Five minutes before the break, Lockton herself bagged the second with a well-struck left-foot shot from 15 yards.
Gloucestershire, buoyed by a large contingent of Bristol Rovers players, emerged a far stronger side in the second half and reduced the deficit on 70 minutes.
But back came Hampshire ten minutes later when the sheer power of Saints' England international Una Nwajei saw her muscle past two defenders and slot home from six yards.
"We don't always convert what we create, but I'm really pleased with the way we put away our chances," smiled Hampshire boss Vanessa Raynbird.
