CRICKLADE College hosted a science quiz with eight schools from the area as part of national science week.
The event had a Harry Potter theme and was designed to show young students that science is both educational and fun.
The quiz, sponsored by Chilworth Science Park in Southampton, ran a series of rounds.
Each school entered a team from years seven, eight and nine and then battled against other schools to win first prize.
The year seven teams answered 20 questions during the first round, with years eight and nine doing the same for the second and third round. The four top-scoring teams from each year went forward to play against each other in the last three rounds.
The final was a close contest, with all the pupils doing extremely well, but the year seven team from John Hanson, the year eight team from Henry Beaufort and the year nine team from Testbourne all took home the winners trophies.
Each student who participated received a medal and certificate, presented by Steve Davis, director of the Southampton Enterprise Hub at the Chilworth Science Park.
Mr Davis said: "An event such as this demonstrates that science isn't as boring as some might think. It can be interesting and fun, and it's young scientists such as those here today who are our future."
Owl handler Mike Riley and Chestnut from the Hawk Conservancy also spent time with the pupils, who had the chance to ask questions and gain hands-on experience.
