HAMPSHIRE golf star Justin Rose is backing the English Golf Union and the English Ladies Golf Association in their grass-roots initiative to introduce more people to the game of golf.
After last year's successful 'Free golf coaching for beginners', would-be golfers will again get the opportunity to play the game for the first time through free lessons with a qualified professional.
Free coaching will be available to beginners at venues all over England between April and September. If you are interested you can simply register with the participating venue and receive an hour's free coaching with clubs and balls provided free of charge.
Rose, who has already won twice on the European and Southern African Tours this winter, says: "It's great that so many people will be given the opportunity to experience golf for the first time again this year. It's a terrific scheme which allows participants to continue to whatever level they aspire."
Everyone keen to take part will be given information on a number of initiatives aimed at sustaining their involvement in golf, including obtaining an official handicap and joining a club.
