THE first round of the four-a-side Neptune League held along the Milford Shingle bank produced some excellent sport with the Lymington club romping to victory with 14lb 5oz.
The Lymington team comprised Steve Moore, Malcolm Stote, Mark Jones and Chris Clark.
The best specimen caught during the event was a 1lb 8.75oz pollack bagged by Steve Moore while Chris Clark had the top individual bag.
The event attracted 14 teams with pollack, pout, rockling, dogfish and smoothhound providing some lively sport with all the teams returning fish to the scales.
Runner-up on the night was Boscombe & Southbourne A with 8lb 3.50oz followed by Boscombe & Southbourne C 7lb 14.50oz, Wessex Angling Falcons 7lb 10.75oz, Castaway B 7lb 1oz, Boscombe & Southbourne B 5lb 8.75oz, Bournemouth & District 4lb 12.50oz, Wessex Angling Kestrels 4lb 12oz, Lonis B 4lb 11.50oz, Lonis A 4lb 5.75oz, Castaway A 4lb 4.50oz, Christchurch & District 3lb 2.25oz, Wessex Angling Hawks 2lb 4oz and Christchurch Shore 1lb 11oz.
Rover's next mini midweek pegged measure and return open will be held at Stokes Bay on April 25 with fish from 8pm to 11.30pm.
Tickets, which are pre-book only, have been set at just £5; there will be three prizes for the longest fish and three prizes for the greatest number of points.
