ANIMAL welfare campaigners were invited to tour a farm in Southwick to check out how animals are looked after.
Andrew Humphrey and wife Sally played host to staff from Compassion in World Farming, who took a tour around Lodge Farm.
Mr Humphrey said: "There has been a lot of criticism of the farming methods British farmers use, not all of it accurate.
"We are keen to show that we look after our animals. It is obviously in our interests to make sure they are comfortable and well looked after."
The south-east adviser for the National Farmers' Union, William White, said it was important a better understanding into the industry was gained by CIWF representatives.
Lodge farm will be the first of three farm visits for the CIWF staff.
