ENTRIES for floats in Andover's revitalised carnival for 2002 are already rolling in and the organisers are quietly satisfied with the progress being made.
Nigel Baxendale, chairman of Andover Round Table, long-time organisers of the street fun event, said: "Entries have already started rolling and we, with the organising committees, are pleased with the progress made so far."
He added a plea for every company and organisation wanting to take part to get their entries into the carnival headquarters as soon as possible.
"We are aware of quite a few organisations which have not yet submitted their entry forms.
"We would urge everyone to complete their entries and send them in as soon as possible as this helps us in planning the event and organising the logistics.
"We have also been pleased with promises of support from organisations such as New Street Football Club and with the sponsorship pledges received so far. Contributions from the New Street club, Twinings, Inter-national Thompson Publishing, Test Valley Windows, the Goa Balti House and the Weyhill Fair have helped towards setting the foundation for a successful event."
Mr Baxendale added that negotiations are continuing with potential major sponsors and an announcement could soon be made.
