Police are seeking witnesses after a 71-year-old Alresford man was seriously injured in a car crash at Southampton on Saturday.
The pensioner was driving a red Honda Civic estate when it left the road, ran over a roundabout and smashed into a concrete bridge parapet.
The accident happened on the A35, at the roundabout under the Redbridge flyover.
No other cars were involved, even though it was a busy time of day-5.50pm.
The man was taken to Southampton General Hospital with multiple injuries and he remains in a serious condition.
"There were many vehicles in the area at the time and we want to speak to anyone who saw the incident or saw the car just prior to it leaving the road," said PC Stephen Waters.
Ring the Southampton traffic department at Shirley police station on 0845-0454545 if you think you can help.
