The third race of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club's Spring series on Sunday 7 April saw an easterly breeze of around 18 knots with gusts up to 32 knots.
The Race Management Team set the Committee Boat off Bird Pile on the Fawley shore.
The multihull class were first away at 1010, Corsair F28R Shakatak pulled away to win by nine minutes on corrected time partly because her rivals were forced behind an incoming ship.
In Class 1 racing under IRC, Mike Garvey's X-332 X-Parrot went onto win by nearly three minutes on corrected time from Stuart Danby's Dehler 33 Rocket with Ben James' H-Boat Badger third. Class 3 - racing under club handicap, was dominated by Hunter 707 Big Boys Toys (Andrew Percival) who took line honours and corrected time victory by over 3 minutes from Sadler 29 Zumbido (Michael Hibberd) with third Sigma 33 Iskareen (Michael Perrin), After three races X-Parrot, Big Boys Toys and Shakatak all have perfect scores of three wins each.
