ALL creatures great and small will be congregating at Botley's Manor Farm Museum this Sunday when the working farm attraction stages an open-air church service for pets.
The setting for the special "Bless This Mouse" service will be the grounds of the picturesque church of St Bartholomew.
The 13th century church overlooks the farm's duck pond and is part of the historic Manor Farm site, owned and managed by Hampshire County Council.
Like the famous episode of The Vicar of Dibley, organisers are hoping that the service will prove to be a big hit with animal lovers.
It will feature original hymns along with some traditional favourites and music will be provided by a piano accordion. Event organiser Lyn Whitear said: "We are hoping that people will bring along their favourite pets and enjoy a church service with a difference."
She added: "The musician has warned me that the piano accordion may set dogs howling!"
The service will take place at 2.30pm and entry to the event will be free - although car parking charges apply in the country park.
Manor Farm is situated in the Manor Farm Country Park with the park entrance located in Pylands Lane, Bursledon, a short distance from Junction 8 of the M27.
More details about the event are available by telephoning the country park on 01489 787055 or by visiting www.hants.gov.uk/countryside/manorfarm
