DARTS fanatic Simon Gosling has just emulated a feat achieved by his girlfriend to become Darts World player of the month.
Known to his team-mates as Gossie, the 31-year-old threw a 10-dart finish in a singles in the Wednesday Night Basingstoke Invitation Darts League.
Scores of 140, 180, 171 and a game shot of 10 gave him a 2-1 victory in his singles over Ian Shore of the home team, Queen's Arms.
Gosling's team, Kempshott Social Club, ended up 5-4 winners overall after the six singles and three pairs and Gosling remained undefeated on the night.
His girlfriend Lisa McEwan, who also plays six nights a week, was the Darts World player of the month in December after a 13-dart 501 leg in the Embassy qualifier at Eastleigh.
Unfortunately, the 29-year-old McEwan did not qualify for progress in the national competition.
Both players turn out in the North Hants Super League on Fridays and Sundays and also play at Alton and Winchester as well as the local Basingstoke league.
They could be followed into the Darts World list of luminaries by two Basingstoke pairings.
Graham Hardy and Darren Hawken threw a 14-dart 601, with an average per dart of 42.928, in the recent North Hants Super League pairs competition at Oakridge West Community Centre.
In the women's competition, national league player Jo Sibley and Alison Pritchard threw an 18-dart 601, with an average of 33.388.
