POLICE have warned against people who try to claim refunds on stolen goods.
In the latest incident a woman was foiled in her attempt to claim cash back on a dado rail at Sainsbury Homebase in Andover when staff suspected the validity of the receipt.
Pc Ted Reynolds said: "This sort of crime has been steadily on the increase and it is forcing stores to change their policy on refunds."
He pointed out that stores are not obliged to give refunds on goods and these days are more likely to offer a replacement.
