Blackfield & Langley 0, Andover 2
CFL sponsored Andover eased their way into the quarter-finals of the JWL League Cup with their third victory over Blackfield & Langley in a fortnight (reports Alan Mussell).
The Lions won through 5-2 on aggregate but again it proved to be an acrimonious affair which reached hits climax when Blackfield defender Wayne Harvey was sent off after 63 minutes for one tackle too many on Shaun Dyke.
Chances went begging in the first half but the Lions got their act together in the second and went ahead after 55 minutes when Paul Odey beat the offiside trap.
Alan Kennedy continued his excellent form of late with the second goal 11 minutes from the end when he slotted home after a brilliant 60-yard solo dash.
Bad news for the Lions was that after a clash of heads Dave Asker burst a blood vessel in his eye and looked a doubtful start for the town club's Christmas programme.
Andover (4-4-2): Drake; Freeman, Barker, Damen, Bicknell; Kennedy, Walsh, Asker, Dyke; Odey, Forbes. Subs: Crossley (for Asker 50 mins), Simpston, Mattingley (not used).
