Hythe & Dibden 1 Andover NS 0
TRANSPLUS sponsored Andover New Street lost a Hants Premier game dominated by defences last Saturday but there were few chances for either side to be creative with half of the pitch covered with four inches of dead leaves.
The only goal came in a goal mouth scramble 10 minutes from the end when it looked as though the game was destined to finish goal-less.
"The pitch was awful but the game had 0-0 written all over it," said Street manager Gary Prince. "I would have settled for the point. They were no better that us and I thought we were unlucky not to have come away with a point."
Andover New Street (4--42): Smith; Austin, Richmond, Prosser, Dunn; Swayne, Styles, Fraser Bain, Matt Hooper; Ali Hooper, Exley. Subs: Keogh (for Mat Hooper 70 mins); Waters (for Swayne 70 mins).
Stockbridge's home game with Poole in the Hants Premier last Saturday fell victim to the weather but Barry Andrew's side were back to winning ways with a 2-0 home win in midweek against Hythe & Dibden, with goals from Paul Sanders and Pete Sweeney. "We controlled the game from start to finish," said Andrews.
